Craven QD Luggage Set, Golden Arrow Panniers, Fairline Top-box and Rack

  

Complete Craven Quick Detachable Luggage Set. Golden Arrow Panniers, Fairline Top-Box and old style bar frame mounting rack. Correct for a mid 1950's to around 1970 British motorcycle restoration.

Given that the set is around 55 years old and not new when I got it the overall condition is pretty decent with no damage or significant paint marks to the outside. The insides are clean but somewhat stained despite always having had custom foam liners fitted. The foam has disintegrated over the years and been disposed of. I used this set for many years on several motorcycles covering perhaps 200,000 miles. There are a lot of fittings with it to accommodate various motorcycles. The panniers have two sets of top mounts fitted. The original lugs for the wing nut fixings on the original rack are still present. I added a set of rubber lugs to the back for use with the later twin tube rail carrier on a Triumph T150V. The locks and seals were replaced in the late 1970s with the then current Craven types.

There is a considerable length of new seal to go with the kit. There is also a quantity of the correct alloy rivets if you desire to fully strip and repaint the panniers and top box. The rack and mountinvings are solid but clearly showing their age with surface corrosion on most of the originally plated parts. The bottom of the top box shows some gel coat cracking but the main fibreglass is not damaged. The set wasn't;t new when I bought it.
